Tsubasa Nishioka
Tsubasa Nishioka is a Japanese-born dancer and choreographer. He began his training in classical balet at the age of 7 and later expanded into modern and contemporary dance with renowned choreographer Fumihito Shimizu.
He received numerous awards, including 1st place in both divisions of the Chiba Selected Junior and Newcomer Performance, and 2nd place in the NBA National Balet Competition
In 2017, Tsubasa moved to America to study at The Ailey School where he performed “Battlefield”, choreographed by Robert Battle and Elisa Clark, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater at Lincoln Center in their Spirit Gala.
Post graduation, he worked with choreographers including, Matthew Westerby, Winston Brown, Darshan Bhuler, Omar Roman de Jesús, and Marcus Jarrel Wilis to name a few. He is currently a member of i KADA Dance Company, H.T Chen & Dancers, Accent Dance, AP Dance, Valerie Green Dance Entropy, and J CHEN PROJECT.
In 2023, Nishioka founded his own company, Feathers Dance Company and premiered their first evening-length production, “Kibi Dango”, in Tokyo 2024.
Nishioka performed at 2025 Jacob’s Pilow Dance Festival with by H.T Chen & Dancers. In addition he toured with Valerie Green Dance Entropy in Scotland for the 2025 Fringe Festival.
