Description
Oasis
Pushing through a sandstorm that dries the throat and blinds the eyes,
I finally arrive at an oasis, a place of comfort, where I felt protected and my existence affirmed. Enveloped by supportive companions and the idea of safety, my feet anchors into this oasis in the middle of the desert. To stay in this paradise or to re-venture into the hardships, I struggle between both urges that carries equal authenticity and weight.

Description
When opinions clash, there isn’t just one “right” answer. What is considered right shifts depending on perspective. “That person is wrong so this person must be right.”
Such simple binaries cannot define the complexity of being human.
Each individuals emotions and experiences the’ve accumulated births uniqueness that often differ from others. The more we strive to understand and respect others’ views, the more we encounter contradicting views. The new ideas that arise from dialogue between colliding thoughts carry both strength and harmony.
This piece expresses the beauty and tension found in the very moment when opinions cross.

Have you ever sensed a silent cry for help? The worries, stress, and endless tasks accumulates to a weight no longer bearable. And yet we convince ourselves that we can do it in solicitude.
What if, someone can lend out a helping hand before someone reaches their breaking point. Perhaps someone had extended an empathetic hand but you just didn’t notice it. If you did, would you we be able to accept that kindness?
This piece gently leans into the unseen burdens of the heart, and the quiet but resonating power of empathy.
When We Echo

Description
When We Echo” is an exploration on comprehension and perceived clarity in relationship to perceived chaos. Throughout the work, a performing artist speaks Japanese “cues”, including numbers, phrases, and sounds, to cue fellow performers on sections and rhythms. Audiences who don’t know Japanese may not understand this language, hence they may just hear sounds and contemplate whether this is clarity or chaos. Within the work, we match this through the physicality and set changes. Performers move in and out of clear, unanimous, forms and atmospheric explosions to paint the space with this duality. Additionally, three chairs start in a clear line and finish the work in an obscure sculpture, created by the artist’s mid-work, in an improvisational manner.

What if, in the moment you’re forced to decide, there’s no time to think no room to breathe? What do we rely on to reach our “answer” in that instant? This piece explores not only personal decisions, but also the tensions within a collective-what should be prioritized, and why.
It carves out the inner turmoil that surfaces in split-second choices, and the shifting emotions within relationships, through the body with unwavering intensity.
